We love using our slow cookers during the summer months. Our schedules are pretty packed trying to keep the kids busy and entertained all summer.
You can put everything in the slow cooker in the morning and have a fun day with the kids, then come home to an amazing dinner. This chicken sandwich is loaded with flavor and the bacon knocks it out of the ballpark.
In our house, we LOVE bacon. Bacon in the morning, bacon in the evening. Everything is better with bacon. Don’t you agree? Well, this recipe HAS IT!
This slow cooker crack chicken recipe includes all of my favorite things, cream cheese, bread, and cheese, oh yeah and of course the bacon that we have touched on a wee bit.
This is probably one of the best slow cooker recipes we’ve created. Everyone has loved it. It is one of our most popular recipes to date. If all of these things (food, popularity, slow cooker) don’t perk your interested, I don’t know what will!
Honestly, it’s so easy and simple, you will find yourself making it so often you won’t even need to look at the recipe anymore. Chicken bacon ranch sandwich ingredients:
- Skinless chicken breast
- Cream cheese
- Cream cheese with bacon
- Dry ranch dressing mix (find it HERE if you can’t locate it in your grocery store)
- Bacon
- Colby Jack cheese
- Rolls or buns

Other items you will need to make this easy chicken bacon ranch sandwich recipe:
- Slow cooker
- Non-stick cooking spray
- Medium-sized mixing bowl
- Baking sheet
- 2 forks or stand mixer
how do you make the best slow cooker crack chicken?
Start by spraying your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or you can use THESE slow cooker liners (PS they help make clean up easy!). Then, place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Now, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the plain cream cheese, cream cheese with bacon, 2 ranch dressing mix packets, and the cooked bacon pieces.
Once everything is mixed together well, spread it over top of the chicken breasts that are at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Place the lid on top of the slow cooker and turn it on low for about 6 to 8 hours or on high for about 4 hours or so.
Be sure to watch the chicken and make sure that it doesn’t overcook otherwise it can dry out.
Then, either with two forks or a stand mixer (can shred the chicken fast), shred the chicken and then return the chicken to the slow cooker and stir it back in with the ranch mix. Make sure that the chicken is coated completely.
Serve the chicken on your favorite buns or rolls and then top it off with shredded cheese. Place the sandwiches on a cooking sheet and then put them in the broiler just until the cheese is melted.
You need to watch VERY closely as this will only take about 45 seconds for the cheese to melt and to avoid the rolls from burning.
Then, simply serve and enjoy!

Slow Cooker Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 4-5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, (depending on the size)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese with bacon, softened
- 2 (1 ounce) packets dry ranch dressing mix
- 10 ounces bacon, (cooked and crumbled)
- 6 rolls, (or buns, we used onion buns)
- 1½ cups shredded Colby Jack cheese

- Lightly spray your slow cooker with non stick cooking spray. Place your chicken in the slow cooker.
- In a medium sized bowl combine the cream cheese, bacon cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, and cooked bacon pieces,and spread over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for about 5-6 hours or on high for about 3-4 hours. Watch closely so they don't overcook.
- Shred the chicken with 2 forks and stir together well in the slow cooker so chicken is coated well.
- Serve chicken on rolls and top with shredded cheese. Stick under the broiler just until cheese is melted. Watch closely-only takes about 45 seconds.
