I love how easy it is to make this butterscotch flavored dessert. With just a few minutes and a few simple ingredients, you have a tasty butterscotch treat for your family, friends and neighbors.
Every year around Christmas time, my family and I make butterscotch fudge together. It usually turns into us sitting at the bar, and our mom making fudge as we talk and snack on her fudge.
It is one of my fondest Christmas memories. This butterscotch fudge is more than just it’s delicious taste and easy preparation, it is also the memory it holds behind it.
Easy Butterscotch Fudge is a recipe I hold near and dear to my heart. We want to share it with you, so you can enjoy the simple pleasures this butterscotch treat has brought my family and I through the years.
You are going to love this easy to make treat!
What Could I Use in Place Of Rum Extract?
We highly recommend using the rum extract. It adds a strong butterscotch taste to the fudge, however, if you don’t have any, almond extract or vanilla extract is an easy switch.
Again, we recommend rum extract for the best butterscotch taste, but vanilla or almond is an easy replacement. The fudge will taste a little different, but still delicious.
Could I Make This Without Using Butterscotch Chips?
If you are not a butterscotch fan, it is easy to swap out the butterscotch chips for something else.
I prefer the butterscotch, but it’s also very easy to use milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or peanut butter chocolate chips, for delicious, easy to make fudge the whole family is going to love.
