Your slow cooker will become your best friend after this Easy Crock Pot Pork Chop recipe!
I love “dump-and-go” recipes that take only minutes to throw together and then cook slow all day in the crockpot. This recipe has become a tried-and-true favorite.
WHAT KIND OF PORK CHOPS ARE BEST?
When it comes to choosing the best pork chops for this crockpot recipe, I would recommend a THICK (3/4″ – 1″) boneless pork chop or a bone-in pork chop.
Thin cut pork chops will not work for this crock pot pork chop recipe and will most likely turn out dry. The low-and-slow method of cooking in this recipe will dry them out every time.
Using a thick boneless pork chop will cook a little faster than a bone-in chop, so if you know that your slow cooker cooks hot or fast, you may want to decrease the time a little bit.
In the picture, I used a thick boneless pork chop, but my favorite pork chop to use in the slow cooker is a BONE-IN pork chop. The more marbled and fatty your pork chop is, the more tender it will be after cooking.
DO NOT OVERCOOK THE PORK CHOPS
Pork chops tend to have a reputation of being dried out. The secret to slow cooker pork chops is to be sure to not overcook them.
I recommend cooking these pork chops for 3 hours on high heat or 6 hours on low heat. If your slow cooker tends to cook things fast, check them at 2 hours on high heat or 4-5 hours on low heat.
The FDA recommends that the internal temperature of a pork chop should be 145 degrees F, but I could pull them out at 140 degrees. Place them on a plate and cover with aluminum foil (like you would after grilling pork chops). The internal temperature will continue to rise if you do this and will help prevent over-cooking.
I would highly recommend getting a simple meat thermometer if you don’t have one. It makes cooking any type of meat so easy and you will always know that it is the perfect temperature. I use it for every grilling dish I make!

CAN YOU USE FROZEN PORK CHOPS FOR THIS RECIPE?
If you want, you can use frozen pork chops for this crock pot recipe.
I would recommend adding 30-60 minutes to the cook time or just use a meat thermometer to make sure that it has reached a safe internal temperature and is fully cooked.
