- Milk
- Butter
- Honey
- Brown sugar
- Cinnamon

- Nutmeg
How To Make Our Mashed Sweet Potato Recipe:
To begin, start by bringing a large pot of water to boil.
Once the water is boiling rapidly, place the chunks of sweet potatoes into the water carefully.
Then reduce the heat down to medium and let the potatoes cook until they are tender, which will be about 20-30 minutes or so.
When the potatoes have become tender, use a colander and pour the potatoes into the colander to drain the water.
Now pour the boiled sweet potatoes into a large mixing bowl and use a potato masher to mash the potatoes down until they are smashed to your personal preferences.
Next, you will need to add the milk slowly and mix it into the potatoes.
Once that is done, add the butter, honey, brown sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the mashed potatoes.
Continue to mix everything together until the butter is completely melted.
Then just serve the mashed sweet potatoes warm and topped with a little extra butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar if you want, and then dig in!
To Make this Creamy Sweet Potato Mash Recipe You Will Need:
- Large pot

- Wooden spoon
How Do You Make Mashed Sweet Potatoes?
Generally, when people think of mashed potatoes they automatically think of using russet potatoes, red potatoes, or Yukon gold potatoes, all of which will work wonderfully!
Just like the sweet potato. You treat the sweet potato the same as the others by washing, peeling, and chopping up the potatoes and then boiling them until they are tender.
The only true difference here is that just like with most sweet potato recipes, you will be adding brown sugar, whereas with the others you do not add any sure, rather you would add herbs if you wanted.
Do You Peel Sweet Potatoes Before Boiling Them?
For the best tasting mashed sweet pot recipe, I would definitely remove the skin of the potatoes.
If you are wondering if you can eat the skin of sweet potatoes, the answer is definitely yes! And Eating Well gives you great ideas for eating the skin of the sweet potato.
What Pairs Well With Mashed Sweet Potatoes?
Really there are so many things that you can make with sweet potatoes. We went to stay towards the hearty meals of chicken, steak, pork, and sometimes some ground beef recipe.
