Chocolate chip cheesecake blondies are a popular dessert recipe in our house. Normally when I make them, I am lucky if they last 2-3 days!
This is a great dessert with cream cheese that is perfect to serve as a delicious dinner dessert. It is also great to bring to potlucks or get togethers.
I always get asked for the recipe when I bring these blondies anywhere. They are hit with the kids too! Anything with chocolate chips seems to go over well, especially with the creamy and fudgy texture of the cheesecake blondies.

Ingredients Needed For This Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Blondies Recipe:
- Shortening
- Brown sugar
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Flour
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Milk chocolate chips
- Cream cheese
How To Make This Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Blondies Recipe:
Begin making these blondies by preheating the oven to 350 degrees.
Then in a large mixing bowl combine the shortening, brown sugar, and sugar and cream it all together.
Then beat in the eggs. You will want to do one egg at a time and then once all the eggs are added, stir in the vanilla extract.
Now in a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt and give it a good stir with a fork.
Add the dry ingredients into the sugar mixture and blend it all together well.
Once that is all done, stir in the chocolate chips by hand. If you use a mixer, it can break the chocolate chips.
Now in another bowl, mix together the cream cheese and a ¼ cup of sugar, making sure to cream it together well.
Then, add the remaining 2 eggs to the cream cheese mixture to finish off the cream cheese layer.
To build the blondies, get out a 9×13 inch pan and spray it with nonstick cooking spray and begin by pouring about ½ of the chocolate chip dough in the bottom of the pan and spread it out evenly.
Next, pour all of the cream cheese filling on top of the chocolate chip layer and spread it out well to cover the whole pan.
Then use a spoon to drop the rest of the chocolate chip dough over the top of the cream cheese filling.
It doesn’t have to be perfect as the batter will spread out and it will look delicious! 🙂
Then place the pan in the oven and let the blondies bake for about 45 minutes or until the top is lightly brown and the cheesecake layer has set.
(Depending on how your oven bakes, the tops might get a darker brown in order for the cheesecake filling to fully set up.)
Once they are done, pull the cheesecake blondies from the oven and let them cool completely.

Get My Meal Plans NOW!Shortening Vs. Butter
Haven’t heard of many recipes that call for shortening? There are different reasons to use shortening instead of butter, but you can use butter as a substitute for shortening.
However, if you do use butter instead there will be a little change in the texture of this recipe. If you want to find out more about the differences take a look at what Jessica Gavin the culinary scientist has to say about the differences between shortening and butter.
