- Any other favorite condiments
How to Make Air Fryer Hot Dogs
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (we like to use the Ninja Food air fryer for this recipe, but you can use different air fryers, too!).
- Prep For the best results, cut slits in the hot dogs and arrange them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Fry Fry at 400 degrees F for a cooking time of 4 minutes, flipping at the halfway point through cooking.
- Fry Once the cooking time is done, remove the hot dogs from the air fryer. Place 1 hot dog in each bun. Brush the tops of the buns and hot dogs with the melted butter. Fry the hot dogs in the buns for a couple of extra minutes (I found 3 minutes worked for me)
- Serve with ketchup, mustard, relish, or any other of your favorite toppings.

Perforating the hot dogs before cooking prevents them from splitting when cooking, especially if done for too long.
They are more consistently and evenly cooked compared to the microwave. Cooking in an air fryer is more similar to grilling to achieve the crispy skin.
If you want to save the leftovers for another weeknight meal or a quick lunch, throw the hot dogs back in the air fryer for another 3-5 minutes at 350, and you will be good to go!
