So most days, when I am craving something, I can find one of our recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth. I asked all my sisters to see if there was a chocolate cheesecake recipe on our site – and there wasn’t one.
I was shocked. I searched all over, and found this one on All Recipes.
It had 5 stars – every single reviewer gave it 5 stars. I was a little skeptic at first, but I was NOT disappointed.
My husband asked me to make it for his birthday every year from now on. Of course I say yes, because I think this is my new favorite food. I promise, this will not disappoint.
Could I make and freeze this cheesecake?
You could most definitely make and freeze this cheesecake. Baked cheesecake freezes pretty well. We don’t recommend freezing it long. We would only freeze it for up to a week or two.
We also recommend covering it well. Something with a lid, or wrapped multiple times with saran wrap, as well as aluminum foil would be recommended.
We also recommend placing it in the fridge 48 hours before serving to thaw it. We don’t really recommend leaving it out on the counter. The fridge would be the best way to thaw it.
Can I bake this in a normal pie pan?
We definitely recommend using a spring form pan for baking this recipe. We have never tried baking it in any other pan, but for this cheesecake, a spring form pan would definitely work best. They are fairly inexpensive and worth every dollar with this cheesecake recipe.

Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 premade Oreo crust
- 18 Oreos, crushed
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- ¼ cup butter
Filling
- ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping
- 1 ½ cups semi sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Equipment
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat 9" pie pan (or 9" springform pan) with cooking spray. Mix together crushed Oreos, sugar and butter, and press into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes, and remove from the oven. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees.
- In a small sauce pan, combine 1/4 cup of chocolate chips and whipping cream until completely incorporated. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese and one cup of sugar until smooth. Add cocoa and mix well, then add eggs until blended. Stir in the chocolate chip mixture and teaspoon of vanilla. Place in oven and bake for 40-45 minutes (until the edges start to crack).
- In a different small sauce pan, mix together 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, whipping cream, and vanilla extract on low heat. Stir continuously, making sure it doesn't burn, until the mixture is smooth. Pour on top of the cheesecake, and refrigerate for at least four hours (it's best if it's refrigerated overnight).
- We topped it with raspberries.
