how to make peanut butter rice Krispie Treats:
Step 1: Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
I did this with olive oil, but you could also use a butter based spray.
Step 2: Melt your butter in a big pan. Add in marshmallows and karo syrup. Stir over medium heat until smooth.
You will want to continually stir, especially making contact with the bottom, to ensure it doesn’t burn. I used a wooden spoon to do this.
Step 3: Remove pan from heat and add in Cocoa Krispies. Stir until well blended. Then carefully fold in 8 cut up Reese’s peanut butter cups.
You could also use the mini unwrapped peanut butter cups as well. We have also made these with Reese’s Pieces and they were delicious.
Step 4: Gently press into 9 x 13 pan.You may need to spray your fingertips with non stick cooking spray to spread in the pan easily.
You could also spray a rubber spatula with non stick cooking spray, if you would rather use a spatula instead of your hands.
Step 5: Sprinkle remaining 8 Reese’s peanut butter cup chunks over the top and press down gently.
Step 6: Melt chocolate chips in microwave for about 30 seconds and stir. Continue to microwave at 20 second intervals until completely melted and smooth.
Be sure to not overcook, or let any water or moisture get into the chocolate, or it will make it chunky/sugary and difficult to stir.
Step 7: Spoon into a sandwich baggy and snip the corner off the bag. Drizzle over the top.
Step 8: Melt the peanut butter chips in microwave and follow the same steps as you did with the chocolate chips. Then put into a sandwich baggy and drizzle it over all.
Step 9: Let set up for about 15 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy the chocolate peanut buttery goodness. We also don’t blame you, if you eat the entire pan.
