- This recipe is easy to double if you need to feed more people or want to freeze half for another night.
- If you love a quick cleanup, you may also consider using a slow cooker liner or spraying your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
- If you don’t love velveeta cheese, try this homemade cheesy sauce instead:
2 Tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
1 cup 2 percent (or higher fat) milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Melt butter over medium heat in a small saucepan. Whisk in the flour and salt until smooth. Gradually whisk in the milk, adding it slowly, until the mixture just comes to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add in 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese and stir until smooth and cheese is melted.
Pour this cheese sauce over the top of the ground turkey when you add it to the slow cooker and you will be good to go!
