I am always looking for new recipes. I feel like I have been getting into a bit of a dinner rut lately and this Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli is one of the only recipes, getting me out.
Your favorite sandwich all rolled up into a delicious Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli. It is such a simple recipe that is full of flavor, and so easy to throw together.
Everyone in my family loves this one (even my pickiest eaters that live for chicken nuggets and mac and cheese).
It’s really love at first bite, and so easy to make. You are going to love it.
would crescent dough work for this recipe?
This recipe calls for pizza dough. It also works best with pizza dough. However, you could easily switch it up and use what you have on hand.
We have only made this recipe using pizza dough (pre-made pizza dough, but you could also make your own and it would taste delicious), but crescent dough would also work.
The texture of the bread will of course be a little more flakey and lighter, and may fall apart a little easier, but crescent dough should work just find.
make other flavors:
If you do have picky eaters that don’t love onions and peppers, you can also make this recipe using other meats and vegetables.
It’s like mini pizza, but better. You could add any of your favorite pizza toppings, or even add your favorite toppings to the already delicious, Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli.
It’s fast, quick, simple and delicious. Here are a few of our favorites to add:
- sausage
- pepperonis
- bacon
- banana peppers
- olives
- jalapeños (my husband adds these for a little kick)
- red onion
- cilantro
- mushrooms
- artichokes
Really any favorite pizza topping would be delicious in these. They are pretty versatile, and it’s a fun recipe to get the kids involved with.
We also find they are more likely to eat it, if they get to help make it, because they are proud of their work.
