Sometimes those simple recipes are the best recipes and that’s how I feel about these easy tacos.
I haven’t ever shared this recipe on the blog because it is so simple – but it really is one of my go-to recipes that we use all the time and everyone needs one of those recipes that you can make in a hurry.
I figured, we all live busy lives, so I might as well help as many busy parents as I can. This recipe is also picky eater guaranteed. If you have picky eaters, they are going to love this one.
Every single kid in my family (nieces and nephews included) love these. So we are often making them.

how to brown ground turkey
Browning ground turkey is a lot like browning beef.
Place a pan over medium heat.
Place the thawed ground turkey in the pan. You can use a meat smasher, to cut into into smaller bits, but I prefer to use a metal spatula.
Using the metal spatula, cut up the meat, and flip it as you go. I usually dice it with the spatula, flip the meat, move it around the pan, and repeat. Continue this process until there is no pink left, and the meat is diced up into small bits.
Once it looks like the meat is fully cooked, I like to drain and rinse my meat. I place it under Luke warm water and rinse the meat, until the water is almost covering all the meat.
I then tilt the pan, using the spatula to hold the meat, from falling in the sink.
I do this process about 2-3 times, and drain until the water is completely out of the pan. If there is a little water in the pan, that is fine. Simply place it back on the stove, and let the heat take care of it.
could I use ground beef instead?
You could most definitely use ground beef instead of ground turkey in this recipe. Cook the recipe as directed in the instruction.
Ground Beef usually cooks a tiny bit faster than ground turkey, so be sure to keep an eye on it, as you cook it.
could this be made into a freezer meal?
This could most definitely be made into a freezer meal. I wouldn’t prepare the tacos or the toppings, but you could definitely freeze the meat.
I would recommend freezing the cooked meat for up to three months.
