I love wearing my hair up in the summer! The last thing I want to do on a hot day is blow dry and flat iron my hair. I get sick of doing the same ol’ ponytail, so adding a headband helps change it up a bit. This is one of my favorite types of headbands because it is soft, comfortable and you don’t end up with a headache at the end of the day (maybe I just have a big head, but that happens more often than not! Haha)!
Here is how to make it:
You will need:
A t-shirt (I used a size XL from the kid’s department), scissors, an elastic headband, and a hot glue gun.
Cut the bottom hem off of your t-shirt and cut three 1″ strips.
Trim each strip of fabric to the same length. Add a dab of hot glue on the top of each strip to attach to each others (one on top of the other).
Once attached, start braiding!
When you reach the end of your braid, use hot glue to secure it.
Cut a 2″-4″ strip from an elastic headband (depending on the size of your head). Glue it to the back of the end of your braid.
Attach the other end of the braid to the elastic the same way.
Wrap a small strip of fabric around the unfinished edges and attach with hot glue.
You’re done!
