I think that chocolate and mint go together perfectly. After trying the Andes Mint Fudge, I knew I couldn’t stop there.
Once I had a taste of the mint chocolate holidays, there was no turning back for me, and then these Andes Mint Chex Mix Muddy Buddies were created.
Probably one of my proudest life moments. This muddy buddy recipe, is the best of the best. I thought regular muddy buddies couldn’t get any better, but I was wrong.
My family loved this chex mix and it makes a great gift for friends and neighbors this holiday season.
It makes quite a bit, so it’s great for large crowds and get togethers.
what could I use instead of Andes mints?
Because Andes mints can be a little more pricey than regular chocolate chips, we do have another option for you.
I love milk chocolate chips, and this recipe works just as well with them, and a few drops of mint extract.
I wouldn’t use more than two or three drops, but taste as you go, to your preference. I would start with two, see how strong it is, then add drop by drop, tasting as you go.
You can always add more mint, but you can’t always take it away, once you add it to the chocolate.
what could I garnish the muddy buddies with?
For this particular recipe, we used sprinkles. However, there are many different things you could garnish this recipe with.
Here are a few of my favorite Muddy Buddy garnishes:
-Milk Chocolate Chips
-White Chocolate Chips
-Candy Cane Crumbles
-Andes Mint Crumbles
-Mint Hershey’s Kisses
