Looking for a fast easy recipe that is only about 20 minutes from start to finish? These Avocado BLTS won’t disappoint. They are so easy to make and they turn out delicious.
This has been a staple at our house since we were little. They were so easy to throw together on those busy nights, when all the sisters were in sports or at lessons of some sort.
If you have a busy night, or are looking for a simple dish to throw together that the whole family will love. We highly recommend these Avocado BLT’s.
You can even use guacamole, to prevent those slippery little slices from slipping out of the sandwich with those little eaters.
Sneak in extra veggies:
It’s also a great recipe to introduce new veggies and sneak them in, especially for little eaters and picky eaters.
If you need a simple and quick recipe, but looking to make it more healthy by adding vegetables, here are a few we recommend:
- spinach
- lettuce
- bell peppers
- olives
- cucumber slices
- banana peppers
- jalapeños
What could I replace the bacon with?
I love the bacon on this sandwich. It is so tasty and a quick meat to prepare.
However, if you don’t love the bacon, you could easily replace it with another meat.
Here are a few recommendations:
- Turkey bacon
- Turkey
- Ham
- Chicken breast
- Chicken Sausage
- Meatless (these would even be delicious without any meat, as well).
How to keep avocado’s from going brown:
If you hate brown avocados as much as I do, don’t stress, there is a simple solution.
If you are like me, I rarely eat an entire avocado at one time. Here are some tips to keeping it green:
- Only use 1/2, and keep the pit in the other half.
- Squirt lemon or lime juice on it
- Always wrap it in foil, and place it in an airtight container.
If you do all three of these steps, this will help slow down the browning of avocados.
