It’s finally summer and we have been loving every minute. The kids are home all day and the sun is HOT, but we’ve been cooling down with a lot of swimming and a lot of summery drinks. This Blue Raspberry Slush is the perfect way to beat the heat, and is an all-around kid-favorite drink.
The best thing about this slush is how quickly it comes together. In less than five minutes, you have a slushy drink that will keep everyone cool.
The key to this recipe is using a high-powdered blender to get the right slush consistency. I would highly recommend this one (which is the exact one I used to make this recipe). If you don’t have a high-powered blender, you may need to blend for a lot longer to reach the consistency you like.
To make this recipe, you blend together ice first – to get that “slushie ice” consistency. You don’t want it too chunky, but blend it too much, and you’re going to have a watery drink.
Once the ice has reached the perfect slush consistency, set it aside and mix together soda, Kool-Aid, and sugar until combined, and add it back to the blender for a few more pulses to make sure it is completely incorporated.
The great thing about this recipe is that it can be easily adapted to any flavor you want. While we love Blue Raspberry, you can create your own flavors and mixes.
