If you’ve followed along for a while, you know we are ALLLLLL about a good copycat recipe, and this California Club Flatbread is no joke.
This is one of my favorite appetizers at BJ’s brewery, but my pregnant heart needed it at home. And wayyyyyy more often. With just a few simple steps, you can make it easily at home, too!
How to make California Club Flatbread
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Brush flatbreads with olive oil, then top with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, avocado, bacon, and chicken.
If you have other favorite toppings, feel free to add those as well. My husband loves mushrooms on his, and I love sliced olives on mine.
Step 3: Bake for 6-8 minutes, until cheese is melted and starts to brown.
Step 4: Remove from oven and top with fresh parsley and garlic aioli. Serve warm.

What bacon tastes best with this recipe?
I am never one to pick one type of bacon over another. I love all bacon. However, if I had to choose one bacon to go with this flatbread, it would be applewood smoked bacon.
You could use any bacon for this recipe. I have tried the maple flavored bacon with this flatbread and it is delicious.
The only bacon I wouldn’t recommend is bacon bits. They don’t taste as fresh or savory on this pizza. If it is the only thing you have on hand, it will work, but I prefer cooking my own and cutting it or ripping it.
Looking for a grilled chicken recipe?
My mom is famous for this 7’Up Chicken Marinade. It only has a few simple ingredients and makes the chicken so moist and juicy.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. While your oven is pre-heating to 350 degrees, chop your veggies and chicken.
While it may look like these are mini pizzas, they don’t have any sauce.
The first step is to brush your flatbread with olive oil (you can use these pita flatbreads like I did, or they also sell it in longer rectangles at most stores, too).
I love using fresh ingredients, but you could easily substitute dried parsley and bacon bits instead.
Top each flatbread with an equal amount of ingredients and bake for 6-8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edges start to brown.
When it’s finished, top with a drizzle of garlic aioli (it also tastes REALLY good with our homemade spicy aioli).
