The first step to addiction is admitting you have a problem, right?
I can honestly say that I am a chocaholic. Not a day goes by that I don’t have some sort of chocolaty goodness to eat. A day without chocolate is a day I don’t want to endure. Haha.
These cookies are so chewy and chocolaty that I had to give them away to refrain from eating them all myself.
My kids helped get in on the action and we made them together after school. I love creating memories in the kitchen with my little ones and teaching them how to cook.
These were definitely a hit as well. I am surprised there was enough dough left to make actual cookies, because my taste testers were very committed to their job.

Chocolate cookie shortcut:
I am all about homemade and cooking from scratch, but sometimes, I just don’t have the time. When I am craving chocolate and need my fix quick, I don’t want to have to make a cookie from scratch.
So if this is you at times, you don’t need to feel alone, because I am right there with you. If you are looking for a similar recipe, but just shortcut method, let me introduce you to our Brownie Mix Cookies.
Yes, you read that right, cookies made from a brownie mix. I usually always keep one on hand (because of my chocolate addiction) so I can just whip these right up. They are the perfect mix between a brownie and a cookie.
The best part is, you can whip these bad boys up in half the time. I don’t really recommend one chocolate cookie over the other. They are both extremely delicious.
If you don’t have a brownie mix on hand, these are definitely the cookies you will want to make.
Add a little peanut butter flavor:
I love chocolate and peanut butter. I you are looking to switch things up, here is what I recommend:
- add 1/3 cup creamy (or chunky) peanut butter to the batter.
- add peanut butter chips.
- add Reese’s Pieces instead of M & M’s (or do both. I won’t judge).
- add Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup pieces to the batter.
