Now that Halloween has passed, it is time to bring out the Christmas. My mom was always the first to play Christmas music the day after Halloween.
Now she has rubbed off on the rest of the sisters. We love to get into the Christmas spirit, and this Chocolate Orange Fudge does just the trick.
It is inspired by Chocolate Orange Sticks that are seasonal, and delicious. You will love this fudgy version.
how to make chocolate orange fudge:
Step 1: Mix sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a pot, over medium high heat. As it begins to melt and cook, continue to stir, to prevent burning.
Step 2: Bring to boil, and stir constantly for 4 minutes. This is a rough four minutes. You just want to make sure it is boiling, and all the ingredients are well combined. It took me about four minutes.
Step 3: Remove pot from heat, and add the marshmallow cream and chocolate chips. I used milk chocolate chips, but you could use dark, or semi sweet. This fudge is already pretty rich as it is, so I would stick with milk.
Step 4: Stir until fully combined. You want everything to be melted and well combined. Once it has been brought to a boil, and done cooking, poor the mixture into a 9×9 inch pan, covered with aluminum foil.
I cover it in aluminum foil, so when the fudge is completely done, I can easily lift it out of the pan. It also keeps the fudge from sticking.
Step 5: Freeze the bottom layer of the fudge, for roughly 1 hour.
Step 6: In a separate bowl, melt white chocolate chips. I melt mine in the microwave. I cook it for 60 seconds, then stir it.
I then place it back in the microwave and continue to cook for another 30 seconds. I take it out, and mix it again. If it needs another 30 seconds, place it back in the microwave for another round.
Step 7: Once the white chocolate chips are fully melted, combine the vanilla frosting, until completely mixed together.
I used canned frosting, but if you are looking for a homemade vanilla frosting recipe, look at the one I have linked below.
Step 8: Add orange extract and orange food coloring. Poor the orange mixture over the cold chocolate fudge.
Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until ready to serve.

This is our mom’s Homemade Buttercream Frosting Recipe. It is so easy to make, and tastes delicious. I do like it more than store bought frosting in a can, but I also am a busy mom, so the canned stuff works great.
