favorite cookie add ins:
I love these cookies, but as I have been experimenting with my cookies lately, it has been fun to add little twists and flavor variations.
I have created a list of my favorite things to add to this recipe, to make them taste just slightly different, depending on the holiday, season, and flavor preference:
- White Chocolate Chips
- Peanut Butter Chips
- Butterscotch Chips
- Coconut
- Nuts
- Orange Zest
- Fruit Extracts
- Candy Bits
- Caramel
- Sea Salt
Do these cookies freeze well?
These cookies do freeze very well. We do recommend, making them the same day you plan to eat them, however they preserve nicely when frozen.
We recommend placing them in an airtight storage container, and freezing them for up to 2 weeks.
To thaw, place them on the counter, still in the airtight storage container, 24 hours in advance. I even like to give mine a little time (about 10 seconds) in the microwave, to make them warm and gooey again, like they just came out of the oven.

Fudge-Filled Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 12 ounces milk chocolate chips
- ½ pound Swiss Maid Milk Chocolate Fudge*, cut into pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl and set aside. Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, softened butter/margarine, and vanilla and beat until creamy. Add eggs and beat. Gradually stir in dry ingredients, mixing well. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Take about a tablespoonful of cookie dough and place a piece of fudge (mine were about 1/2" cubes of fudge, flattened just a little bit) in the center. Place another teaspoonful of cookie dough on top of the fudge and seal all the edges of the cookie together so that the fudge is in the middle of the cookie. Repeat for the other cookies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes (don't overbake- the more gooey they are, the better!).
Notes

- Peanut Butter Chips

- Coconut
- Nuts
- Orange Zest
- Fruit Extracts
- Candy Bits
