Friday night was always pizza night at our house growing up. We usually went with Papa Murphy’s (still one of my favorites to this day!) but sometimes we got to create our own, and it was SO cool to me as a kid.
I still look forward to pizza night as an adult, but not to pleasing everyone’s taste buds. It’s always easiest to have everyone create their own pizza, and everyone seems to eat ALL of their food when we do so.
How to Make mini texas toast pizzas
We decided to get a little creative with our crust this last week and these garlic bread pizzas were a hit! Here’s how we made them:
Preheat oven to temperature directed on Garlic Toast Box. Any brand of frozen garlic bread works great, but we love the Pepperidge Farm one like pictured above!
Place 8 slices (still frozen) on your baking sheet and top each with pizza sauce. Homemade works great, or jarred sauce. We usually have some in the fridge ready to go for pizza night.
Sprinkle about 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese onto each slice of toast.
Top with your favorite pizza ingredients. We love pepperoni and ham and pineapple pizzas, but feel free to get creative with your favorite toppings! Let everyone decorate their own pizzas.
If you’re looking to squeeze some vegetables into your kids diet, we love setting out fun colorful chopped up vegetables for topping choices. Here are a few our kids have liked:
- Green Peppers
- Red Peppers
- Olives
- Mushrooms
- Pineapple
- Spinach
- Tomatoes
More times than not, if one of our kids gets to decorate their own colorful pizza, even if it’s with vegetables, they will still eat it!
Bake according to time directed on the box. About 6-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust begins to golden.
