We’ve teamed up with Pillsbury’s new Purely Simple baking line to bring you a delicious treat: muffin cookies.
Or as we lovingly refer to them – MOOKIES. Even though these cookies are made from a mix, you’d never be able to tell.
Plus, we feel better about using the Purely Simple line from Pillsbury because there are no colors, no preservatives, and no artificial flavors.
We added in a little extra lovin’ and these mookies were the star of the party.

how should I store these cookies?
These cookies are amazing. They are so simple to make, and have the best flavor to them.
If you are have any leftover, after serving them, then you should store them in an airtight container.
I usually put them in my pantry or on my counter in an airtight container for up to three days.
They are usually gone within the first day of making them, but on a rare occasion there are any leftover they don’t last long.
If you are making them ahead of time, and want to freeze them, we don’t recommend this as much. The mookie is thick, and doesn’t really get back to it’s original softness when you do this, so we don’t prefer or recommend it.
However, if you do, they will still be delicious. We recommend putting them in an airtight container, and removing them from the freezer 24 hours before serving them, to allow them to thaw properly.
could i make these in a mini muffin pan?
This recipe could easily by made in a mini muffin pan. We used a regular size muffin pan, because we prefer the thickness.
However, a mini muffin pan would work just as well. We recommend cutting the time down by 3 minutes, and checking every now and then, to make sure the mini Mookie’s don’t burn, if using a mini muffin tin.

Mookies (Muffin Cookies) Recipe
Ingredients
- 17.5 ounces Pillsbury Purely Simple chocolate chip cookie mix, 1 package
- 1 egg
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup butterscotch chips
- ½ cup Caramel Bits
- ½ cup crushed pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix together cookie mix, egg, and butter until completely combined. Fold in butterscotch chips, caramel bits, and pretzel sticks.
- Grease and flour muffin tins (or use a muffin tin liner), then fill each tin with dough, about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way full (they won't rise like muffins do, so don't worry about them overflowing).
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges and top start to turn a golden brown.
- Remove from a muffin tins (I used a small rubber spatula around the edges and they came right out!) and serve warm and gooey.
Notes
-
If you are have any leftover, after serving them, then you should store them in an airtight container.
