I can’t believe it is 2014. 2013 was a wild year for us, but I can’t wait to see what this year has in store.
We are thrilled to be welcoming this little lady to the world in June. I have two boys (3 and 1 years old) and can’t wait to have a little pink around my house.
I have been making an effort to eat foods that will nourish the baby and myself. I have such a sweet tooth but have found that fruit makes the perfect treat.
I can’t get enough pineapple and strawberries. My family, on the other hand, isn’t as keen to the idea so delicious dips like this make them want to eat fruit as much as I do.
This dip is so delicious and versatile, it can be used for more than a fruit dip.
HOW TO MAKE ORANGE PINEAPPLE FRUIT DIP
Step 1: In a medium glass bowl, soften marshmallow creme in the microwave for 30 seconds.
It doesn’t have to be glass, but microwave safe is important.
Step 2: Whisk in whipped cream cheese and orange pineapple juice until smooth. This may take a minute or two to get it completely smooth.
You could also use a hand mixer if desired.
Step 3: Spoon into serving container and top with orange zest.
Step 4: Keep in fridge until ready to serve. It’s best when it is served cold, and right out of the fridge.
what are substitutes for cream cheese?
If you are concerned about using cream cheese, there are a few alternative.
–Greek Yogurt: I love the sour taste Greek Yogurt has. But when you combine it with the right ingredients, it is delicious, in dessert.
For this recipe, you could use Greek yogurt. The consistency of the dip will be a bit more runny, but it would still taste delicious.
–Cottage Cheese: I love the cottage cheese texture. I have made this dip multiple times using cottage cheese and it has been a hit every time.
People are always shocked when they realize it’s cottage cheese, and they actually like it in dip form.
what else could I use this dip for
I love this dip and the combination of flavors. It is versatile and can go on just about anything. I also love just grabbing a spoon and taking a bite (don’t judge until you try it).
Here are a few other ways you could use this dip in your various recipes.
–Cake Filling: I love putting this on a fruity cake, as filling, in between another layer. I also love using this dip as filling for a poke cake.
I love our Strawberries and Cream Poke Cake, but this would be a delicious alternative, with mandarin oranges on top, instead of strawberries.
–Crepe Filling: You have to try this combination. The citrus and the sweet, on a light and fluffy crepe, is about to blow your mind. Here is our favorite crepe recipe.
–Orange Roll Frosting: Orange rolls are up there with chocolate to me. I love the combination, texture, flavor, and what’s not to love really?
But I changed up the orange cinnamon roll game by using this filling as frosting. If you want to try it yourself, check out our Orange Cinnamon Roll recipe.
