Happy Memorial Day! I first want to start by thanking all those who fought and are fighting for our country. We wouldn’t be called the Land of the Free without you. Thank-you for all you do!
A lot of people get together with family and not only to remember, but celebrate this day. I know how stressful planning the BBQ is so I have a solution for those who don’t have a BBQ treat yet.
These peanut butter rice Krispies Treats are super fast and taste amazing! My mom made these all the time when we were little. Being away from family I always get a little home sick – especially on holidays. But making these made it feel like my Mom had been cooking in my kitchen!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day! And take a moment to remember all those who have sacrificed so much.

You mix the peanut butter and Karo syrup in bowl, no extra sugar. Then add the Rice Krispies. Spread in a 13 x 9 pan that has been sprayed with PAM. Let them chill for a bit in the fridge.
Once cool slice the treats into rectangles. Take a carton of ice cream and slice it in to rectangles to fit the treats. Place ice cream between 2 pcs of treat. She would wrap them in foil and keep them in the freezer.
Now we just make the mix up for the treats and add it to the top of a bowl of ice cream.
I think they would be good dipped in chocolate too.
Might have to make some today :) Thanks for the inspiration.
