Now that March is here I am loving all the rainbow decorations, especially our rainbow fruit kabobs with fluffy marshmallow dip!
These are perfect fruit kabobs for kids or a cute decorated plate for a St. Patrick’s day party. Plus, it’s a great way to use up the variety of fruits in your fridge.
These are also great for bridal showers, an after school snack, a baby shower, or something the whole family can enjoy their favorite fruits on a hot summer day.
It might look like a lot of work but most of it is just cutting the pieces of fruit into bite sized pieces. Then just enlist your kids to help build the fruit kabobs and you have yourself an easy fruit side dish.
I also love that when you place the kabobs on a plate next to each other you have the perfect rainbow and my kids are always in awe of how pretty it is. If you want to have even more fun with it you can add some yellow food coloring to the marshmallow fluff dip and call it the pot of gold.
If you’re not a fan of marshmallow, you can make a cream cheese fruit dip instead. Either one will pair great with your rainbow fruit skewers!
For more refreshing fruit recipes, make sure you try out our honey lime fresh fruit salad, creamy yogurt fresh fruit salad, and our fresh fruit salad with citrus glaze.
They all work great in lunches or to serve at your next spring party. It’s one of the best ways to use up simple ingredients you likely already have on hand. If you’re looking for easy snacks, these are perfect!
Ingredients You’ll Need For Our Rainbow Fruit Kabobs with Fluffy Marshmallow Dip Recipe:
- Strawberries cut to bite size pieces
- Cantaloupe cut to bite sized pieces
- Pineapple cut to bite sized pieces
- Fresh berries
- Green grapes
- Blueberries
- Whipped cream cheese
- Marshmallow creme
You can really get any type of fruit you want. Honeydew melon, dragon fruit, bananas, and apples are a few other ideas. The best part about fruit kebabs is that you can make them your own!
How To Make Our Rainbow Fruit Kabobs with Fluffy Marshmallow Dip Recipe:
First start out by washing all of your produce and drying it.
Once it’s all dry cut the strawberries, pineapple, and cantaloupe into bite sized pieces.
Once that is done, grab skewer and begin threading the fruit on it.
Start by adding a piece of strawberry, cantelope, pineapple, a green grape, two blueberries, and the red grape. This helps give the rainbow effect!
Continue this pattern for as many skewers and you have enough fruit for.
When you are done making up the skewers, place the cream cheese and marshmallow creme in a medium size moving bowl and whip it together with a hand mixer.
Make sure it is nice and smooth and then it is good to go!
Fun Tip: if you want to continue the rainbow theme, add a couple drops of yellow food coloring to the cream cheese before beating and you can make your own pot of “gold”.
Then just cover the marshmallow dip with foil or store it in an airtight container and store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve the kabobs.
To Make The Fruit Kabobs with Dipping Sauce You Will Need:
- Cutting board
- Skewers (THESE work great!)
- Knife
- Medium mixing bowl
- Hand mixer
- Spatula
Want to Try a Different Dip?
I get it, marshmallows are not everyone’s jam, and that is okay! Marshmallow dip is one of our favorites for this recipe, but it is not the only option.
If you want to dry a different dip with this delicious fresh fruit kabob, might I suggest a yogurt dip?
Foodie Crush has an easy yogurt fruit dip recipe that will work wonderfully with our kabobs. Try it out instead and let us know what you think!
Do I Need to Use All the Same Fruit?
No you do not! However it does make the most perfect rainbow. But, feel free to omit or change with other fruits that you and your family like most.
