I know you are thinking Moon Pies are usually smothered in chocolate but my girls just kept saying moon pies… so that is what we are calling them Ha Ha.
My oldest loved rolling the icing in frosting- but she loved eating them even more.
These are more of whoopie pies than anything, but they are so yummy and my girls refused to call them anything but moon pies. So we are rolling with it, and these moon pies will blow your mind they are so good.
You could also turn them into real moon pies and dip them in chocolate.

Marshmallow Frosting:
Did you know that most Moon Pies (Whoopie Pies) are filled with a smooth and creamy Marshmallow frosting?
We have the best recipe as a filling. But you could always fill them with a cream cheese buttercream frosting if that’s what your family prefers.
If you are looking for a recipe shortcut, you could also used pre-made or canned frosting. We recommend making the marshmallow frosting, but if you are in a hurry, and don’t have time to make your own frosting, you could easily use pre-made.
You could shake things up and use a different flavor, like chocolate, cherry, Funfetti, strawberry, German chocolate, etc.
