In preparation for my wedding I’ve been doing a lot of crazy workouts and trying to eat better (only 23 more days). This recipe has helped curb my chocolate cravings – and I can eat it without feeling so guilty.
I am always on the lookout for some healthy treats, that won’t ruin my diet, or attempt to eat healthy. Emphasis on attempt. I really do try, but I think we can all agree, it can be a little tricky to eat healthy with all this yummy food around, especially this time of year.
If you are looking for a simple dessert or treat (or even breakfast), this is the perfect recipe for you. It’s healthy, delicious, and seriously tastes like a milkshake. It is full of fruity, chocolaty flavor, that I know you will love.

what could i use instead of melted chocolate chips?
This recipe calls for melted semi sweet or dark chocolate chips. However, you could easily replace these with something else. There are a lot of sugary options you could choose from, however, to keep it “skinny” here are a few options, with little to no sugar in them.
Here are a few recommendations:
- sugar free chocolate sauce
- cocoa powder
- chocolate protein drink
- chocolate protein powder
- chocolate milk
- hot cocoa powder
We definitely prefer to use a less sugary options such as a chocolate protein mix, but baby steps are a good step. With this milkshake, you really can;t go wrong. It is so thick, creamy, simple, and delicious. You will absolutely love it.
