This easy chicken carnitas recipe is what dream are made of!
When you mix the lime and orange juice together with the taco seasoning you will get an amazingly seasoned chicken breast that you shed for the perfect carnitas dish.

Ingredients needed to make Slow Cooker Chicken Carnitas Recipe
- 1½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ⅓ cup orange juice
- ⅓ cup lime juice
- 1 red onion, diced
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade taco taco seasoning)

How to make Slow Cooker Chicken Carnitas:
Spray inside of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
Place chicken breasts inside slow cooker. Pour orange juice and lime juice on top.
Sprinkle onion, jalapeno, garlic, and taco seasoning on top of chicken.
Place lid on top and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours (or 2-3 hours on high).
Remove chicken and transfer to a plate or cutting board (leaving liquid in the slow cooker).
Shred the chicken using 2 forks.
Preheat broiler.
Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and spread shredded chicken out on it.
Pour 1/3-2/3 cup of the liquid left in the Instant Pot on top of the shredded chicken.
Place chicken under the broiler for 2-4 minutes or until the ends start to brown and turn crispy (it will happen fast, so watch it carefully!).
Remove chicken from oven and serve on top of tortillas, nachos, salad, or any way you want to eat it!
