Today we are featuring these Walnut Fudge Brownies recipe from Erin Gonzales.
“This is a recipe my mom has always used. It was passed down from a family member I believe. This is the only brownie recipe I use.
I feel like most people use a mix for their brownies are more cake like. This brownie recipe is so rich a little piece goes a long way.
It is soooo easy to make with ingredients most people have in their pantry already. Whenever I make them for work functions or parties, people rave about them.”
Thanks for sharing Erin. We couldn’t agree more. These brownies are like a delicious chocolate cake, with so much chocolatey flavor.
what flour should i use for these brownies:
We have frequently been asked what flour we use for baking. When I first heard this question from a commenter on an older post of ours, I was so confused.
What other flour is there besides flour?
Then I went to the grocery store later that week, and saw all the different kinds of flour.
For baking, and all my other cooking, I just use the simple and cheap, all-purpose flour. I have never had any problems with it.
However, if you choose to use a gluten free flour or self rising flour, they will also work. For the best texture, I recommend using all purpose flour, which is what we used in this recipe.
how long should i let the chocolate and butter cook for?
As explained in the recipe, to start the brownies, you first melt the chocolate and butter together.
This does not mean, bring the mixture to a boil. You just want the ingredients to simply melt, and fully combine, for the best flavor and brownie texture.
If you let it boil, it will burn it, and won’t taste as chocolatey, it will have a more burnt taste to it.
