We LOVE spring! After spending all winter indoors, we feel like there are a few things everyone needs to help make the transition from cold to warm! Here are our top ten picks:
1. Revamp your nail polish.
A simple way to change up your appearance and get ready for spring is by adding a cute pop of color to your nails! Right now, we’re all about nudes, light pinks, and mint! Our favorites are Romper Room and Pistachio Shimmer by Essie. (This not sponsored – we just really like those colors!).
2. A Great Foot File.
My feet are NOT pretty in the winter – so as soon as I know my feet will see the light of day again, I have to start working on them! I always spend a lot of time buffering my rough heels (sorry, we’re getting really personal here!), and my favorite tool is a foot file. I found this foot file that is exactly like the ones they use when you get a pedicure!
3. Shea Butter. Lots of Shea Butter.
Winter in Utah always makes my skin SO dry. My hands and my feet are always in need of a little extra attention, so I always turn to shea butter to soften them up! L’Occitane has a good shea butter (but it’s more on the expensive side), but I like Jergens shea butter, too (and it’s a lot cheaper).
4. A Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen.
When the weather warms up, we spend a lot more time outdoors – and it is SO important to be wearing sunscreen. I personally love Neutrogena’s Healthy Defense Daily Sunscreen (again – this is not sponsored, it’s just my favorite). Daily use of sunscreen will help you avoid premature wrinkles and UV damage.
5. Water. Lots of Water.
It may seem silly – but when you’re spending more time outdoors – it’s important to keep hydrated! It can keep your energy up, add shine to your hair, and hydrate your skin, too.
6. A Good Pair of Sunglasses.
Like sunscreen to keep your skin protected, with more direct rays from the sun – you’ve got to keep your baby blues, protected, too! I just got a pair under $10.00 at Forever21. I just lose sunglasses so fast that I never want to pay more than $10 for them! 😉
7. A fresh, light lip color.
We love adding a little pop with a good lip color – but we also love when it moisturizes, too! After a long, cold winter, my chapped lips need a little TLC – and all 6 of us absolutely love Baby Lips Dr. Rescue (Just Peachy and Pink Me Up are our faves). It adds the color you want, but brings the life back into your lips!
8. Sunless Tanner.
Most of us have pretty light skin, and we burn easily. We do, however, love the look of a sunny glow! So, to skip out on the UV damage that comes from Tanning beds and the sunburns from laying out, we use self-tanning lotion. Our favorite is Neutrogena’s Micro-Mist Airbrush Sunless Tan (don’t worry – this one has never turned us orange).
9. A Cute Hat.
Whether it’s a baseball cap, a floppy beach hat, or fun fedora – you can’t go wrong with a new hat! It keeps the sun out of your eyes, takes the pressure off of actually doing your hair (thank heavens!), and looks good! I really like this light brown Fedora from Target.
10. Beachy Waves.
A spring look wouldn’t be complete without beachy waves to go with it! When you live in a land-locked state like we do, it’s not really plausible for us to naturally have beach hair. 🙂 My college roommate introduced to me this amazing sea salt spray to help give you a beach texture. Not only does it work – but it smells so good! And did I mention they’ll look great with our number 9 essential?! 🙂
